Disclaimer: Before we start, I would like to say that this tutorial is designed for people who already know how to use Blender.

Now that that is out of the way, let's get started!

OK, so first download SSBU luigi from The Models Resource, then import him into blender, give him his textures: rgh, spc, nor, ect. Oh yeah, and for the eyes use this setup:

Now that we have Luigi all set up, he should look like this:

OK. Now since Gooigi is well, gooey we need to give him a semi-transparent look. In this tutorial I use Eevee, so you should probably use that too to get the same result. Now this might seem really weird to you, but trust me, delete all of the texture nodes except the normal maps.

Now go get an RGB node and plug it into the base color, make it green, for obvious reasons. Put your transmission at 0.5% and the transmission roughness at 1.0%. Sheen tint, roughness, specular and metallic should be at 0.5%. Now you should already see an improvement. do the same for the eyes, but the metallic should be at 0% and keep the original rgh and spc maps. Create new materials just for the hat and the buttons: copy/paste the original material that is used for the body. For the buttons, make the metallic value 0.8% instead of 0.5%, for the cap just make the normal map 2.000.

OK. Now the Blender part of the tutorial is done. Open the image editor of your choice. Open the "def_luigi_001_nor" texture, turn the "L" into a "G" and erase the cloth-like normal on the hat and overalls as seen here:

And you are finally done! I hope this tutorial helped you make a Gooigi alt. skin in Blender for SSBU. Make sure to share with your friends, and if you have a question or a suggestion, make sure to comment. See you guys next time, bye!
